# Al-Hidaayah Foundation

Al-Hidaayah Foundation is a registered charity based in Keighley that operates a purpose-built Islamic education centre serving the local Muslim community and beyond. Founded in 2004 and officially opened in 2016, the organisation provides a dedicated space for worship, learning and community engagement across all age groups.

The foundation operates prayer facilities with five daily prayers (Fajr, Duhr, Asr, Maghrib and Isha) plus Friday Juma'ah services, alongside educational programmes delivered through their Maktab. The centre functions as a sanctuary for spiritual development and Islamic knowledge, whilst simultaneously addressing the social and civic needs of Muslims in Keighley.

What distinguishes Al-Hidaayah is its community-centred approach to fundraising and development. Rather than relying solely on commercial financing, the organisation raised capital through qard-e-hasana (interest-free loans) from community members, demonstrating strong grassroots support and shared commitment to the project. The foundation continues to invite regular and one-off donations to repay these loans and maintain operational services.

The centre fills a significant gap in local provision by offering integrated facilities combining prayer spaces with educational offerings, enabling families to practise their faith whilst engaging in structured Islamic learning. By actively contributing to the wellbeing of Keighley's residents through charitable work and community programmes, Al-Hidaayah exemplifies Islam's principles of social responsibility and knowledge advancement.
