# Battersea Masjid (ICEC)
Battersea Masjid, formally known as the Islamic Education and Community Centre (ICEC), serves the Muslim community and wider public in South West London. Located in SW11 2PF, the mosque functions as a comprehensive religious and social hub offering daily prayer facilities with five scheduled congregational prayers from Fajr at 04:15am through to Isha at 10:15pm, plus Friday Jumu'ah services at two separate times to accommodate worshippers.
Beyond prayer times, ICEC distinguishes itself through an extensive range of community-focused services. The centre operates a dedicated youth programme (IYG Youth Work) targeting young people aged 11–19, employing activity-based programmes to support social and moral development. Their Madrasa provides Islamic religious education for children, recognising parents' responsibility in faith transmission. The mosque also conducts formal Nikah (marriage) ceremonies for the Muslim community.
What sets ICEC apart is its commitment to holistic community welfare. They operate a food bank initiative addressing local food poverty, and provide autism support services—a notably inclusive approach reflecting Islamic principles of community care. The organisation actively fundraises to maintain and expand these services, currently working towards a £50,000 target for facility development.
ICEC represents a modern mosque model, moving beyond traditional prayer-only provision to address contemporary community needs including youth development, special needs support, and food security.
